ClassNK Academy Mission

ClassNK Academy was established in 2009 to provide the maritime industry with a working knowledge of shipping and shipbuilding, specifically focusing on surveys, inspections and ship management.

  • Classification Surveys Package (A Package)

    Who Should Attend?
    Superintendents, ship officers, shipbuilders, repair yard personnel, steel manufacturers, etc.

  • International Conventions Package (B Package)

    1. SOLAS (Safety Equipment, Safety Radio)
    2. MARPOL, IBC Code, IGC Code
    3. SOLAS (Safety Construction), ICLL (Load Lines), TM69 (Tonnage)
    4. ISM Code, ISPS Code, MLC

    QM managers for ship owners, management companies, superintendents, ship officers, shipbuilders, repair yard personnel, etc.

Academy course materials are developed based on ClassNK’s extensive knowledge of maritime regulations, cutting-edge research and the data and experience gained over more than a century of classification and related activities.

The course content is basically aimed at providing new employees and those with as yet limited practical experience at various companies with basic technical knowledge about shipbuilding and shipping. Of course, the material also includes the latest technical information and thus allows participants to obtain “work-ready” knowledge.

Certificate of Completion

After each course, ClassNK will issue certificates of completion to the attendees as proof of completion.
